- Index on Censorship's Jodie Ginsberg has publicly reprimanded Jeremy Hunt for 'cherry-picking' who to allow to the conference and for banning RT and Sputnik. -- As a result of Sputnik and RT ban, Russian FM Maria Zakharova says: "Russia always acts on the basis of reciprocity. British media in Russia need to be prepared to face the consequences of the actions of the British government". Amie Ferris-Rotman, Moscow correspondent for Washington Post, tweets: "Not good news. UK journos in Moscow are really worried about this (What Russia will do in response to Foreign Office banning RT from big London media conference) ----- Foreign Office: "governments attending the Defend Media Freedom Conference have been signing up to a new global pledge on media freedom.'
