Indeed Sherwoodian; that was partly what I had in mind. I remember (maybe Mark Toner at the State Dept.) giving it large about how much evidence they had, including this fabled satellite evidence. I also vaguely remember some whispers that got leaked to the press from within the spook community in the U.S. that were going against the state department line. I remember a quote about how they could see the beer bottles that were around the missile launch vehicle and how the crew had been on the piss and other details, but they were stressing that it was NOT a separatist crew; in other words the opposite of what everyone was being told. Not sure what ever happened to that and I haven't had a proper search to try and find the articles that mentioned them. I will have a go later. Meanwhile I'll leave this here. Matt Lee taking on Marie Harf at the State Dept. press briefing. It's like a lion toying with a rabbit. He hits her on the "So WHERE IS the evidence you keep saying you have?": https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2014/07/22/state_depts_harf_evidence_blaming_pro-russian_separatists_for_mh17_based_on_social_media.html
