....reality continues its worrying way June's CO2 level as measured at Mauna Loa was June 413.92 ppm whereas June 2018 was 410.79 ppm. This is a 3.13 ppm rise in just one year. CO2 isn't just increasing linearly, but exponentially - in the 1960s it was less than a 0.9 ppm increase per year, in the decade 2000-2009 it was around 2 ppm per year, and for the 9 years 2010 to 2018 it has been 2.42 ppm. In around 3 yrs time, the yearly average will be 420 ppm, or exactly 50% more than in the pre-industrial average or basically for the last 10,000 years of human existence on this planet. https://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/ccgg/trends/index.html Meanwhile actual global temperatures for the months Jan-May 2019 average 0.94 deg C above the century calculated mean of 1950-1980, which is itself about 0.3 deg C above the average for pre-industrial times. So far, this year has been the second hottest on record, after the year 2016 and its extreme El Niņo. https://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/tabledata_v3/GLB.Ts+dSST.txt ...and in the Arctic, see ice extent (JAXA measurement) has been a record low for the last week, even less than in 2012 which melting season ended in the dramatic record ice low in September. https://forum.arctic-sea-ice.net/index.php/topic,2533.1600.html
