The BBC have carried an item on it this morning from the red sofa with the requisite two presenters. They showed various fires on video from satellite. The fires really are widespread.
They interviewed the ecology editor of the Economist, Catherine Brahic on an o/b under an umbrella. (After the heatwave we have had some blessed rain overnight.) Climate change was given as the reason but no causes or remedies were mentioned.
This is all I could find on their website on the subject. Trivial and a paywall to boot.
