I had forgotten how many other crewed landings there were. Whatever the doubts on the veracity of the story, they were brave men, not forgetting the crews on the Russians' Soyus, the International Space Station and so on. I once met Helen Sharman, the first British female in space and spoke to her briefly. A modest person.

Showing my age, I admit to watching the original moon landing broadcasts on TV, a b/w 12" portable. It had a red plastic case, a built in telescopic V aerial where you had to extend the arms and twiddle them to get a signal. It had poor sound. My boss at the time also had a portable TV which he brought in to work and we all watched subsequent coverage.

Colour TV came to the UK in 1967. Commercial TV arrived in 1955. I feel old!
