Obviously, the US has decided that the sacrifice of Europe is a 'price worth paying' for continuing global hegemony. I don't know who is the barmier - neocons like Bolton who want unassailable US dominance or Christian fundamentalists like Pompeo and Pence who long for 'armageddon' and the 'rapture'. It's an absurd world when we have to rely on Trump - unreliable and inconsistent as he is - to save us. And, perhaps, a few of the more sensible types in the Pentagon.
