1.7 Million Hong Konger's protesting a total fabrication Archived Message

As I'm a resident of Hong Kong I find it daft that anyone is promoting figures that defy reality, namely that out of a population of under 7.5 million, more than one-in-five attended Sunday's Demo, in the rain no less!

The Maths makes this an impossible figure, never mind space restrictions - to gauge its a good idea to go back to the beginning of the Century when we did have a huge Protest march against Tung Che-hwa in July 2004, that attracted at most 500K persons - contrast this with our annual New Year's Eve fireworks display on Victoria Harbour, this attracts under 400,000 Hong Kong Island side, less if its raining and boy is it crowded.

At most on Sunday maybe 300K were were involved given space constraints and the fact it was raining, 1.7 million persons is laughable as basically that would mean that one in four of all abled bodied persons over the age of 16 and under the age of 70 participated - check the demographics, check the logistics and consider the fact that we have a load of Domestics on Hong Kong Island on Sunday's enjoying their day off, and its pretty crowded then.

Just a shame hacks don't actually do some fact checking, rather than propagandise on behalf of the USA.

And as for the UK, the hypocrisy is gross, indeed I remember the Norman Tebbit Cricket Test in Westminster, and what was that about, well, lets not forget, namely, removing the Right of Hong Kong citizens the ability to settle in the UK after the Handover Agreement was signed by Thatcher - allegedly we were going to be inundated by Hong Konger's, absolute farce.
