| What disturbs me is how emotive an issue this Brexit thing has become, on the right and the left, with people investing so much energy, hopes, dreams, prejudices and beliefs into it. Then there's this whole 'sovereignty' and 'freedom' issue too. That people seem to sencerely believe that the UK is going to be more 'fee' outside the EU and that living standards will leap forward once the 'yoke' is off our shoulders; seems fanciful, if not downright delusional. That even some who pretend to be on the left are now supporting Boris Johnson's plans for Brexit is too bizarre for words. |
