The growing volatility of British politics is good news for those of us who want centre parties to hold the balance of power
So yesterday we had the prime minister and leader of the opposition taunting each other about who was too chicken to fight an election two years after the last one. It’s worth recalling that the PM’s communcations director is a man who, as a Daily Mirror employee, used to dress up as a chicken at election time and go round clucking at David Cameron. Apparently he was very good at it.
