    - and last heard, Trump says the US will increase its forces there in a renewed push against "the Taliban", following the death of one US soldier.
    While I don't believe that the resignation//firing of Bolton was planned, I do think that he and his ilk had something to do with the suicide bomber targeting a US vehicle quite intentionally. Bolton was desperate to stop any peace agreement which would have meant withdrawing US forces, so this did a brilliant job.
    But of course "we" did "lose the war" in the sense that the Taliban is now stronger than ever, and nothing whatsoever has been achieved for Afghanis by 18 years of war. Nothing.

    ANd what has it cost the US? a few lives, of blacks and puerto Ricans and Afghan aides, and made billions in profits for arms manufacturers and security corporations. and presumably for drug dealers and the CIA.
