It’s not a question of whether the reporter made it up or not, it’s a question of editing. Of course it’s possible to go to anywhere and find people who either love or loathe Jeremy Corbyn. You’d expect this given that we live in a society in which Jeremy Corbyn inspires great hope amongst a lot of ordinary people, and for that very reason also great fear amongst the people in power...who just happen to control the media. The point is that the Graun will disproportionately trumpet the expressed views of those who hate Jeremy Corbyn - for obvious reasons. Similarly, i’ve not yet met a single real, ordinary person who is genuinely inspired by the LibDems’ predictable brand of bland, managerial centrism. Yet the Guardian’s coverage of their conference assembly yesterday was practically just one step away from Team Graun having their willies out. It was embarrassing. You have to stop seeing the mainstream media as the “window on the world” it pretends itself to be. Once you see it for what it really is - 100% Operation Mockingbird - everything finally starts to make sense.
