It didn't have to be this way. If whst passes for the left these days hadn't abandoned the real world and retreated into fighting for the right of blokes with beards to self identity as lesbians, they could have made the left wing case for Brexit, how that could open up the possibility of a genuine radical Labour government under Corbyn renationalising the rail network, energy suppliers, passing legislation in favour of trade unions etc, etc. Instead they have lined with Blairites to insult their own voters and cheer on the judiciary. Now the field has been left wide open to Johnson to deliver Brexit and win the next election.
