Daily Maverick is a successful media platform that boasts in excess of 1.5 million viewers. It's a curious place, in a way. Editor Branko Brkic is a Serbian who fled the Milosovic government and ended up in South Africa. A staunch capitalist. He hosts some excellent writers and robust journalism: a high quality mixed bag. Daily M has attracted more attention recently because top UK journalists Mark Curtis and (former Guardian journo) Matt Kennard - who can't get their work published by Guardian UK - have been offered a slot by Brkic to run a series of articles on the UK: "UK DECLASSIFIED" Their first article is an excellent expose of how The Guardian is in state capture... or intelligence agency capture: How the UK Security Services neutralised the country's leading liberal newspaper Mark Curis and Matt Kennard LINK https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2019-09-11-how-the-uk-security-services-neutralised-the-countrys-leading-liberal-newspaper/ No-one's quite sure who funds the DM but, as you say, it's linked with The Guardian UK. Why would a Guardian-linked outlet publish an article showing up The Guardian as an intelligence house journal? Is a Guardian or intelligence faction fighting back by getting a non-UK 'off-shore' outfit like DM to publish the Curtis-Kennard expose?
