    What to make of Guardian 'radical' George Monbiot having a showy on-camera arrest (followed by quick, no-charge release)?
    Then there's Benedict Cumberbatch - jetsetter with a carbon footprint - photographed on a pavement with protesters?
    [After helping to traduce a transparency advocate in a movie script - written by Guardian journalists - is Cumberbatch to be seen on the pavement outside Westminster Court, with protesters?]

    Yet other activists target working class people on the most eco-friendly mass transport option available at present - public transport trains.
    Not to condone the aggression at the scene - but is this not highly ineffective targetting by XR activists?

    Virtue signalling by status quo personalities, coupled with counter-productive, antagonising tactics by people climbing on to train tops at peak hour (which might result in XR losing support in areas where it most needs it) may undermine the core, principled XR work.
    Perhaps the goal of certain agents provocateurs? Gives the state the opportunity and excuse to announce pre-emptive bans on street action and public gatherings. This playbook's been seen before
