    Note the FCO's lack of a response to his request for their assistance and protection when Craig and Nadira go to Uzbekistan.

    I experienced the same total lack of help when a close relative was in danger when visiting Gaza on a Freedom Flotilla boat that was rammed in the night by one of several Israeli gunships that surrounded them. The jerk in the FCO was totally unhelpful and a return call never came.

    The boat was sturdy but the top deck was damaged. 16 of those on board (with medical supplies etc) were left for dead but because the boat was wooden and clinker built, it did not sink and they made it to Tyre in Lebanon. The ramming took place some miles out from Gaza. Searchlights had been played on the boat which had sailed from Cyprus.
