makes you think the opposite at first glance - as in 'the scientists got it wrong, there's no climate problem'. Then you check the body copy and find that they're actually saying: 'no, they weren't alarmist enough!' I've been getting this intuitive impression for a short while now: that public attitudes to the reality - and the desperate effing urgency - of the climate crisis have started to shift suddenly. I imagine the worrying weather happening widely and destructively around the world has something to do with it; but I can't decide whether the sudden appearance of XR is another cause of the attitude shift, or possibly a consequence of it? https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/08/opinion/sunday/science-climate-change.html |
