18 million people will not be voting and there will be no change of party in 400 seats. (Heard on Sky News) There are 650 constituencies and the total number of UK Parliamentary electors in December 2018 was 45,775,800, a decrease of 372,000 (negative 0.8%) from the previous year. (ONS) No wonder there is voter apathy. This year, there have been no canvassers locally, hardly any political meetings but much printed matter stuffed through the letter box, mainly from the LDs. Ms Swinson must have spent a fortune. |
