That's ok, it's a fluid word/concept. I was using the term 'Persian' to refer to the predominant ethnic group within Iran as distinct from 'Iranian' as a nationality. There's of course widespread and visceral anti-Iranian sentiment throughout the US elite - and maybe even among the population which is influenced by elite media - for the very reasons you state, but I don't see much anti-Persian racism per se, unlike anti-Arab racism of which there's a lot. It's just an impression, so it could be wrong. Anyway, if the US attacks Iran, I doubt racism will be much of a factor, and I don't think describing it as a "racist war" would be misleading.
