As humanity has difficulty controlling itself in almost everything it does, the likelihood of humanity showing any wisdom or understanding trying to control the climate is around zero. Whether or not we were to be descending into another ice age, and this is still very debatable, such natural processes take thousands of years. Our human induced global warming is accelerating natural processes by one to two orders of magnitude.

The only sane and scientifically rational response to anthropogenic climate change is to stop fiddling with the atmosphere, whether we've been doing this by accident or by design, and stop burning fossil fuel. What we've already done will affect our climate for at least 1,000 years, so there's absolutely no justification for any "judicious" use of CO2 to keep the planet warmer. (and don't forget CO2 doesn't just affect the atmosphere, we're also dangerously altering the pH of the ocean). We literally don't know what we're doing, like a child playing with fire., I would contend that no-one, including Dan Britt, can have any certainty about our future other than to avoid the one we seem to be creating.
