Nothing brilliant, Alan. I merely pass on what might be of interest, from certain people I judge trustworthy on social media platforms. I've watched the videos from most events that features Pilger, Melzer or Shipton .... and people closely aligned to them. Saw a brilliant one last night with Kristin Hraffnson on a stage in Melbourne speaking alongside smart technology professor (and Assange's friend and co-author) Suelette Dreyfus... and lawyers Julian Burnside and Lizzie O'Shea.
The media should be covering all of this, because worldwide interest is there... and growing.
When one examines the scene, Assange has a very small core of solid supporters - all of them in 'alternative media' or citizens' journalist groups or the digital or legal worlds.
In between, one notices aggressive and snide American trolls attacking the core supporters on social media, still smearing Assange and trying to disrupt, with divisive comments.
Complicit mainstream journalists look on - silent bystanders - The Guardian chief among them. Monbiot wouldn't dare include 'Guardian' in his entry. With all the disgraceful character assassination and trial-by-media from The Guardian, the least they could do is apologise for their part in the US-serving defamation of Assange ... and make up by covering his trial adequately and fairly. Instead, nothing but the sound of crickets, from that quarter...
