And as we all know, the elite media's embargo against reporting the atrocities committed against Assange was just one of many that George I-owe-more-to-the-truth Monbiot deferentially respected. In fact, not only did he observe the embargo on reporting the truth about the west's imperial crimes against Syria, he attacked those who tried to expose it. He's been similarly silent or worse on other western atrocities. Nice to see him mustering up enough courage to dissent here and there, but it needs to be balanced against the many times he does the opposite. The fact that the Guardian continues to employ him after purging all its genuine dissidents tells you all you need to know.
