Large numbers of people don't take part in this charade. Conservatives received 24.93%, Labour 18.28%.
Large numbers did not register. I haven't the most recent figures, can use the 2011 figures: 17.7%.
That leaves 82.3% of the potential electorate. Of that, 32.7% didn't vote. That leaves 55.4%. Conservatives received 45% of this 55.4% = 24.93%, i.e. 75.07% of the adult population didn't vote for the government.(It's a bit early in the morning, my figures might be out a little).
But this is nothing to do with democracy. This is a fraud (which is what I write on my ballot paper).
Democracy is what happens when workers own and run their factories, their hospitals, the media, the police force – i.e. the state.
