Yes Der. Very sorry that Emma Dent Coad has gone. Just 150 votes short. Love it that the ex Tory twerp Sam Gyimah (now LD!) came third. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/labours-emma-dent-coad-loses-21087642 I had the e-mail from Grenfell United. 'Today is two and a half years since the Grenfell fire that took the lives of 72 of our loved ones. We will gather tonight to walk in silence and once again find strength in community. We need your solidarity in the year ahead. We are still at the beginning of our journey to justice and change. Across the country people are still living in homes wrapped in dangerous cladding, people living in social housing are still routinely ignored and mistreated, and no one has been held accountable for the deaths of our loved ones. The Phase 1 Report of the Grenfell Inquiry published its conclusion at the end of October. It contained clear recommendations to make sure Grenfell never happens again. We must make sure each and every one of them is implemented. The next part of the inquiry starts at the end of January. It is going to bring even more difficult truths about how we were treated, and by who, before and after the fire. Tonight we come together in our community for our monthly silent walk. This poem by Daniel Renwick explains what the silence means. Please watch and share these powerful words for #Grenfell: Thank you for standing with us, Grenfell United PS The walk tonight leaves from Kensington Town Hall at 6.30pm, details here. Daniel Renwick's poem is on here:
