    ... for a lot of people Corbyn’s association with anti-semitism seems to represent his association with Islam, where Islam in turn comes to stand for the undifferentiated mass of humanity making a claim for equal eminence.



    This fits with the racist right's narrative that the left is in bed with radical Islam, undermining western civilisation. From this perspective, to be labelled antisemitic means to be pro-Muslim. A lot of ordinary people have picked up on this.

    Only a few thousand votes need to be shifted to win an election. Antipathy to Corbyn because of a perceived pro-Muslim bias could be enough to shift the balance.
