Re: Official Secrets, Lies and the Five Eyes..my thoughts on the GE Archived Message Posted by Gerard on December 20, 2019, 5:15 pm, in reply to "Official Secrets, Lies and the Five Eyes..my thoughts on the GE" Whilst much of what you say is true...it is politics in which we are involved...candidates must be up to the job of taking on the establishment..not allowing them the luxury of leverage....being prepared (esp. re: Europe with regard to Corbyn), to articulate another agenda....I voted for the man but was aware that he was a socialist puritan...doesn't drink, doesn't support cannabis legalisation etc. ....so let's not allow our considerable and understandable disappointment to get in the way of progress and continuing a viable opposition.....otherwise the same people will be alienated again...sure he opposed Iraq..but he wasn't alone in this...sure he's an anti-imperialist but not anti-imperialist enough to properly articulate a vision of a Europe that is not under the thrall of NATO.....opposition must be viable, alternatives must be feasible...it is this in which we are engaged...let's see the wood for the trees heh?
