With my brother, I met Dahr Jamail when John Pilger presented him and Mohammed Omer with the 2008 Martha Gellhorn Awards for Journalism at BAFTA's premises in London. Both are brave, warm and modest men. Dahr had written Beyond The Green Zone when he was an unembedded journalist in Occupied Iraq during the Bush/BLiar war in Iraq. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dahr_Jamail I am sorry to hear of his depressive illness. Imagine what he has seen over time. Mohammed has produced several books including accounts of Israel's atrocities committed in Gaza. He lived in Rafah in the refugee camp. The Isralis had demolished his family's home and killed one of his brothers. He carried out a speaking tour in the US. Read 'Incidents' about what happened when he returned home from London from the award ceremony. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammed_Omer What evil.
