Whilst I like Alexei and commend him for making the effort, it would have been so much more pointed and effective if he'd employed some of his razor-sharp invective and named names instead of soft generalities. Why not, for instance, call out fellow celebs Rachel Riley and David Baddiel and their ilk for their utterly disgraceful part in the fake anti-semitism smears of Labour and Jeremy Corbyn? Why not call out Alexei's own employer (of his radio shows) the BBC for its collusion in these lies and its vindictive bias against Corbyn (using such toadies as Ian Hislop, Charlie Brooker and Frankie Boyle)? Why not highlight the role of the corporate media in uniformly ganging up against Corbyn and repeatedly showing him in the worst possible light by outright lies and filthy propaganda? Why not (after all, Alexei is an avowed Labour supporter) call out the traitors and the weasels in the PLP who for nearly four years have never given Corbyn one iota of support but used every opportunity to ridicule and degrade him to their colleagues and to the world at large? Why not draw attention to the fact that the entire secret intelligence apparatus and corporate state of this country was in lock-step to stop Corbyn's Labour at all costs?
Alexei is renowned as a fearsome, and fearless, spokesman and social commentator. I wish he'd used some of those skills and attitudes here instead of a sort of whimsical mock-Angry Man rant that let all the main suspects off the hook. Why does the Left always pull its punches?
