We have the same situation here in Surrey. My father used to be in business in Southampton with his father who started up in 1922 so I know the areas that you are discussing well. I was born in Lyndhurst incidentally. Seeing your photos, I thought how bleak the scene is. The aspirational young people will land themselves with mortgage debt to live in those little boxes. Any community facilities included, such as shops, schools, doctors, a pub or two? Let alone the loss of green belt land. Who are the main developers? Tory donors perhaps like Mr Pidgley's Berkeley Homes Group? The crunch will come when there's no land left on which to grow food or graze animals for meat or milk.
