    Instead of me picking out individual posts by Gail, may I suggest that you scroll down on her home-page; the pertinent articles jump out at you very soon; two in the past couple of months alone...

    There's a serious complication with 'renewable' electricity, which is only just recently coming clearer, to do with the costs of a dual system: 'renewavbles' plus the essential back-up generating grid without which they're just not viable as a public power system.

    And that's to say nothing about the reasons for the ''. Which is that - literally - none of the 'renewable' systems - in their modern manifestations - are self-bootstrapping; they can neither create nor maintain themselves on their own power, and must be regularly subsidised by fossil-hydrocarbon generated power, to be created or maintained at all.

    I sympathise with your angst about how to do what you can to help cure the crises, yet at the same time hope to have a half-way tolerable life. And I applaud your biking mileage! My friend the bike-guru has several times suggested that I add an e-system to my ATB. But so far I'm managing with just muscle-drive... But then, my travel obligations seem to be a good deal less than those which you've been servicing, Keep pedalling bro! Well done!
