Some ask in horror, watching millions protesting in Iran: "Does Trump know what he's done??!"

If one doesn't buy the 'incompetence' card then it seems the military strategists behind Trump know exactly what they've done... and it's Mission Accomplished.

ISIS and AlQaeda have recently been getting trounced in the Middle East, due in no small measure to American nemesis Souleimani, who was set against these US-Saudi-armed jihadis and mercenaries.
Also, the OPCW leak has exposed the lies that have fuelled the Syrian conflict - revealing that some activities attributed to Assad are actually attributable to the USA's Al-Qaeda 'rebels'.
In addition, James leMesurier's death - and the fact the Netherlands government is now suspicious of Alqaeda-linked White Helmets and has frozen their Dutch account - adds to a potentially fatal crumbling of the Perpetual War narrative.

Given all these developments, a check-mate or exposure has looked dangerously close to embarrassing and grounding the US and NATO ... and this will not do.
An attention-grabbing 'propaganda of the deed' is what an American doctor may have ordered: a dramatic Reaper Drone assassination of Iran's beloved top general, guaranteeing the type of scary Middle Eastern outrage that Senate and Pentagon actuaries need to cite.

USA needs its I$I$ scarecrow/proxies/bogeyman: Perpetual War just got its steroid shot. Two birds with one stone: re-booting the required anger of millions of Shia 'Enemies' (now sitting on a newly-discovered field of 53-billion barrels) and easing pressure on ISIS/AlQada. Could these be the intended consequences of this well-planned assassination?
