That's what US military planners don't seem to realize. They've come up against the limits of what they can achieve through the standard modalities of imperial barbarism. They've been fertilising the "tree of resistance" with the blood of millions of people over decades and it's grown to the point that it can't be cut down with threats, sanctions, sock-puppet regimes or air power, and the empire's foot soldiers are not numerous, motivated or competent enough to do anything but cut off a few branches here and there.
