Looks like they've been getting a lot of mail about it and want to discourage people from following up and opening a real discussion. I didn't respond to them in the end, as I didn't see the point of trying to engage their point-blank denial of the evidence I presented to them. However maybe the sheer weight of messages on the subject might itself result in a better treatment of Julian so maybe it's worth it. cheers, I
