Interesting development in Assange case today: "[Assange's lawyer] Ms Pierce described how the administration of Belmarsh prison, where he's being held, had been obstructing access to her client - to the point where even US government lawyers had been trying to assist."

But why would US prosecutors want to assist?

They know that if Assange is denied due process and basic access to his lawyers, then the UK will be found in breach of his human rights and the entire case may be thrown out.

The US wants him on its own soil. Does not want mess ups.

If UK breaches his legal right to counsel, the entire case collapses (which should have happened years ago anyway).

This may be the reason why Judge Baraister granted "extra" time to Pierce and Assange to meet today [in a private room at Westminster Court itself] to sign papers and review case.

But [this] is not extra time.

Any time Assange spends with his lawyers today still does not make up for the obstacles, insufficient time during crucial months of his incarceration in MAXIMUM SECURITY.

ie. If the UK robbed him of 200 hrs of legal access and gives him an hour today, he's still well behind.

I've said this before: If you give the UK enough rope to hang itself, it will kill the case because it will be patently obvious that it has been robbing Assange of legal access, healthcare, right to be on bail / house arrest.

"It is glaringly obvious even to the US prosecutors."
