socialism happens all the time, but it can't be destroyed, not whilst human psychology remains what it's evolved to be. Social instincts, to help and protect one another, will always bounce back, regardless. The next few years is a time when socialists in Britain will have to recognise that the old mass-membership Labour party is now somewhat obsolete, because of changing work patterns, and the disappearance of mass-employee outfits where closed shops could be organised. And a lot of we plebs have now bought into the - non-performing - dream of ever-growing hyperprosperity, which (we imagine) makes class solidarity irrelevant. (Oh what a cold awakening we're in for now!) George G's indefatigable efforts to get a new, thorough-going socialist mass party going are worth watching. That's what's going to have to happen now, as the PLP follows the same path to self-destruction that has engulfed the US 'Democratic' party. When you start to think yourselves superior to your mass-pleb base, and to betray their basic interests, as both the US 'Democrats' and the bourgeois arrivistes of the PLP now do, you've doomed your political future. A party without a mass base goes the way of the libdums, or the flashinthepan Tingeys. (Remember them! ) This bloody impudent zio-bollocks from the BodoBJ's, to which all the arse-kissing invertebrates in the Labour leadership contest are rushing to sign up so slavishly, is a sign of that reality. Think of them, along with the Board's insulting 10-point ultimatum, as turds ripe for flushing. (Oh no, sorry. Not flushing. I recommend - and use myself - the dry composting loo. Works just as well for getting rid of shite, though.)
