BBC on Australian fires Archived Message

Second item on the main 6pm news tonight.

They showed film of the fires 'in this darkest of months' as they put it. But Do Not Worry! They followed with shots of new leaves emerging from the blackened stems of the shrubs with a suitably anodyne commentary by Nick Beake. Such is their propaganda.

They have even put the stuff on their website on video. My word. That was fast.

'Australia fires: How ravaged bushland is already regenerating

Australia's bushfires have burnt through 10 million hectares of land, and it is feared some habitats may never recover.

But in some worst-affected areas, the sight of plants growing back and animals returning to habitats is raising spirits.'

Video by Nick Beake and Dan Soekov.
