"I agree that the ideas can have value regardless of their exact origin." True, I did once have a book analysing Charlie as the traditional "Trickster" teacher character. It was a brilliant analysis written by someone in the Jungian school: unfortunately like the best books, I lent it out never to be seen again and cant recall the author. "..."I started to lose interest after tales of power and journey to ixtlan anyway - the later books when he seemed to be conveniently finding new memories of donjuan to a deadline just felt much less interesting and worthwhile. I later found out that he'd actually written his hareem of girlfriends/wives into the plot in these new recovered memories (remember the witches?). And it sounded like he got pretty culty and narcissistic once he got famous... " -Yea: that neatly sums it up for me too.
