GPs and hospitals. Our NHS Archived Message

Posted by Mary on February 14, 2020, 5:48 pm

I had cause to see a GP yesterday as I had a chest and a urinary infection. I was saddened that he had come from Baghdad to work and settle here when he is so needed in his country.

His examination was thorough and the consultation was excellent. The antibiotic he prescribed had an immediate beneficial effect. He also sent me for a chest X ray which I had done this morning. The radiology department at the local DGH (where I used to work) have a walk in system, ie no appointments, and I was in and out in 15 minutes.

I was gladdened to find the hospital, which was very busy, clean and warm and the staff friendly and welcoming as before. I thank God for our NHS.
