Following info from her back in 2015 I wrote an article in RI about "the Battle for Selma", which happened when Russia helped the SAA drive terrorist groups back towards the border and as far as Jisr. Despite everything that happened since, they are still holding that area and currently pushing to expand it southwards with the Turkish army. It's hard to say what success they've had. That area was also home to quite a number of Uighurs, oddly enough! I don't always go with what Sahiounie says, but he's written some enlightening stuff with his inside contacts. "The day before Dera'a" was one of his best.
