Where did I say, state, hint, imply or declare that the free-for-all market jungle was going to be a desirable outcome? My point (and I think Ken has a talent bordering on genius for missing them) is that the EU's CAP isn't the desired outcome either and in fact is as much in thrall to vicious "free" open markets as anyone else. I just don't see the EU, and never did, as the saviour of environmental mankind. It's a capitalist body to its soul and will only budge an inch (or less) when it has a great big boot up its arse. Why that view should immediately bring forth whingeing bleats of "Ooooh look he wants to eat chlorinated chicken" and "he prefers GM cornflakes to the real thing, silly sod" is not only incorrect, it's childish.
