"Johnson seriously suggests on TV to let #coronavirus run unhampered thru UK population. Johnson proposes to let us "take it on the chin" & "allow the disease to move through the population". In other words... do nothing & accept death rates >10% for elderly." https://twitter.com/MaximilianJans2/status/1237050695330775042 One thing not mentioned re: virology, the longer the virus is extant (even within a "limited host environment"?), the longer it has to become less virulent..therefore all containment and delay tactics may give the majority of the population more of a chance to eventually contract during the spring, summer or early autumn when individual immune systems are less compromised and once the virus has started to "work out" how not to kill its host.... Any comments? Does the virus need an extensive host environment before its virulence diminishes or is time a significant enough factor..?
