An NHS critical care nurse who is on the frontline fighting against COVID-19 in London has said it feels like working "in a war zone".
Speaking anonymously to Sky News, she describes her pride as colleagues step in to help and the mental impact it is having on frontline staff.
It takes a long time to become comfortable as a professional in the intensive care setting.
It feels grossly inhumane to do the things we do to maintain a person's life. We as a profession avoid Intensive Care Unit (ICU) admissions wherever possible. This is because it's a horrible place. People lucky enough to survive, leave with a plethora of psychological challenges, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
