    Dear BBC

I sent this as feedback on your fact check page in response to the story about people torching 5g masts:"Scientifically poorly informed-not about 5G specifically but effects of electromagnetic fields generally. 1) Hundreds of studies have found biological effects, eg see the bioinitiative report. 2) Further, the ICNIRP guidelines linked to do not take long term effects like cancer into account, just shocks and burns etc. It says so on the first page! Do the public a favour and go into Pubmed; search for oxidative stress mobile phones, + STOP CLAIMING the only risks are from ionizing radiation."

Sorry it was somewhat irate, your fact check page on this matter is utterly, shockingly ignorant.

There may be no particular effect from 5G compared with 4G, 3G etc but there is considerable evidence that these technologies do affect the body, and in ways that can impact on the immune system. The example I gave in my feedback was by causing oxidative stress, which features in many or most serious illnesses. You should also look up the effects on melatonin (reduced by continual exposure to mobile phone frequencies), which has potent anti-cancer effects but which is also featuring in increasing numbers of positive studies, including helping sepsis and pneumonia-induced ARS, which could indeed impinge on the coronavirus.

The FACT of the matter is that virtually every study (there are hundreds) you find investigating oxidative stress from mobiles has found it. It is freely accepted, indeed researchers are not looking for it, but are analyzing it or looking for cures and treatments.

So is wholly untrue that there is no evidence of a health risk from mobile technology.
Please leaf through the bioinitiative report where you will find hundreds of these studies. Even if you do not with to accept the conclusions (I note official channels like to dismiss it), the positive studies do exist and to deny their existence is an outright falsehood.

Most studies have found biological effects from mobiles and EMF.

If your writers are genuinely ignorant of the true nature of research picture, I would be happy to engage further.

    Sincerely
