I am sick of hearing the Tory voters almost boasting of getting their cataract and hip replacement operations on the NHS. Many are privately insured but they do not have enough cover to pay for this type of surgery.
If you mention the name of Aneurin Bevan, the founder of the NHS in 1948, they usually have no idea who you are talking about.
Some are being declared 'vulnerable' by the NHS via their GPs If conditions deteriorate, they will receive help for shopping and for their care, although some are elderly and have partners and still drive a car and get about. It's a joke and an abuse of the NHS 'free at the point of need' mantra.
