After she was awarded her peerage and then became a member of the Joint Committee on Human Rights (2015-2019), a relative wrote to her about Palestine and asking for her support as she had spoken of supporting those who were downtrodden and disenfranchised. There was no response, nor any to a polite reminder. He was left with the conclusion that she did not support the Palestinians and maybe supported Israel. Who knows? Now she has been appointed as Labour's race relations adviser by Starmer and is carrying out a review.
