Johnson's government won't be under any threat from their handling of COVID-19, for a start they have no opposition, Labour are completely irrelevant, secondly we have such a fragmented and divided society in which social solidarity has been crushed that as soon as the new series of Love Island starts no one, other than those who have lost loved ones, will even remember coronavirus. In the western world we live in a post modern world in which, other than for fleeting moments (usually officially sanctioned) nothing moves us and we remember nothing. Life in the west is now without meaning or purpose other than endless narcissism and obsession with celebrity.
