Who does not want to come out of Lockdown? Who is unaware of the harms? Archived Message

There is no doubt that we need to end the lockdown as soon as possible - what is being disputed is the best wat to do that. There is no evidence that any of the steps required to reduce the harm are in place, nor that the government has even accepted the need for systematic testing and isolation. Coming out of the lockdown without testing will mean multiple waves, spread of infection throughout the population and the London experience repeated all over the country. That will mean more people with missed cancer diagnosis not fewer. Karol Sikora is a right wing Daily Mail columnist who has written some fairly vile articles about the NHS in the past - I'm not sharing Daily Mail here - so he's a fairly poor person to be quoting in the context of the article even though he's right about missed cancers.
