A decade or so ago (more, maybe) he was a leading figure in the establishment attacks on campaigners on mobile phone safety, and and sufferers too. Maybe he's grown out of that now, but back then he wasn't averse to spin and misleading. I bought his Bad Science book a few years ago, I'm sure it's good but haven't got round to finding out the right way . He was clever and very entertaining (I'm sure he still is) and you'd want him on your side if possible.
