We have had discussions on TLN about some of the same issues with roughly the same conclusion as the movie. I remember looking at the world supply of lithium, for example, which is only about 20 odd years. Of course, there would be a clamour by techno-fix crowd to say an alternative will be found! The most important objective view is that one must do the maths i.e. EROEI. The following criticisms were quoted in the Films for Action for originally taking down the movie which should be referenced. My main criticism of these is that actual EROI analysis is missing from all four, although it is mentioned in a couple of them. This would put to bed a number of talking points. But then, to be fair, this (analysis) is also missing from the movie.
