    Corona virus attaches to the cell it is attacking by attacking to a receptor called ACE2 on the surface of th ed airway cells but also on the endothelium. So the virus seems to cause not justairway disease but also vascular disease. Probably other organ injury is a triple whammy of direct viral attack through the endothelium, blood clots and also low oxygen levels caused by the lung infection.
