Almost the only good stuff at T.I. these days is the justice related work from Jordan Smith and Liliana Segura. This is another utterly infuriating piece demonstrating how completely morally bankrupt the U.S. justice system is.
It's another wrongful conviction but this time a PROSECUTOR is trying to get the innocent victim released and the system is fighting it in the face of completely convincing evidence of misconduct and a miscarriage of justice. I read a huge amount about this kind of thing but it's still amazing that I can get surprised by the depths to which these people stoop. This case really beggars belief.
They make a big deal of creating conviction integrity panels but when they find miscarriages they fight tooth and nail to prevent them being fixed.
They need to start jailing these bastards to stop prosecutoral misconduct. They NEVER face any repercussions even when it's shown that they committed perjury, fabricated evidence and confessions and committed Brady violations.
